Mousegun ammo.... .32 vs. .380?

I own a Kahr MK9 which I love but find it a little too heavy for pocket carry in most pants. The size is acceptable but not ideal for pocket carry in that I would have to purchase pants and shorts around my gun. The Kahr PM9 is very nice because of the reduced weight but I really want something smaller. The new mouse gun addition would need to truely fit in absolutely anything I wanted to wear at any time. I am considering purchasing a NAA guardian or other true mouse gun for this task. Is the .380 that much better ballistically than the .32 in a mouse gun to warrant the nasty recoil? I hear the .380 NAA guardian is painful to shoot. Is the .32 much better? If I have to practice with this thing, I would like to not have to see a physician after finishing a box of ammo.

Don't forget .32 NAA, it's that new .380 case necked-down to .32 caliber. Suposed to be a 60 gr bullet going 1250 FPS out of a mouse gun and about 1400 FPS out of a longer barrel...

It sounds kinda cool to me, but it's too new. I can't find much info on it, and I don't know of any pistols that are chambered for this caliber yet. The guys at www.Makarov.com are working on some conversion barrels so you can make your Makarov a .32 NAA...

The smaller the caliber, the more accurate you had better be with it.
The 380 has pretty good power for its size, and if you can find a pocketlite Colt, its not a bad combination, if that happens to be small enough for your needs.

The .380 is quite a bit better than the .32 ACP. If you were asking about the 32 H&R Magnum, that's a much tougher decision.

Oops, I re-read your post and see that you meant the 32 ACP. I agree with the prior poster- what you want is a locked breach gun like the Colt .380 or wait a month or so and get the Kel-Tec P3AT - they are just starting to show up.

I have a NAA Guardian .32 that I carry at all times (where allowed). I really love this gun and for its purpose think its ideal. The .380 version is just bigger and heavier (13 oz. vs. 18 oz.) enough to make it difficult to always pocket carry, at least for me. Depending upon what theory or statistics you refer to, the .32 isn't that much behind the .380 in effectiveness, particularly in a little gun meant for real up close and personal work. I am surprisingly accurate with mine at 7 yards and don't find it to be uncomfortable to shoot. I use to have a KelTec .32 but simply didn't like it as well so I sold it. From what I have gathered the NAA .380 isn't that unpleasant to shoot either. The bottomline is that, if I could always pocket carry the .380 comfortably and discreetly that is what I would have, but since they don't always fit I opted for the .32 and feel nearly as well protected with it as the .380. Anything under .380 or .38+P is going to be pretty iffy any way. Might as well go with something that's proven, durable, reliable, safe to handle & carry, lighter than all the others and 8+1 ammo capacity for something that's likely to be "really" carried most of the time.
