I agree with H&H's very important statement that the African animals vitals are located differently than a whitetail. I recommend the book "Perfect Shot Placement for African Game' by Kevin Robertson it is very helpful. As also stated above learn to use shooting sticks. A common complaint among PH's is that people can't shoot. Practice, practice, and practice.

Highly recommend as well. The reason I recommend the mini edition is that it is a handy field guide and easy to pack along.
