Made in the mid 70s.
Functions perfectly.
Came with broken easy-out in one frozen hex-stripped nipple.
A day or so in Kroil, followed by a 4mm socket pounded onto nipple made for easy removal.
Gonna use it for dry-fire practice all winter, as my off-hand needs to be strengthened so I can shoot ROAs in frontier cartridge Gun Fighter.
Probably hunt with it too, using Dick Dastardly's 210 grain Big Lube ROA bullet.

I think I did pretty well with this purchase.

Great Find

I am still looking for an affordable ROA. Maybe at the next gun show or a pawn shop. What I have seen on gunbroker makes me wonder if folks are smoking dope before listing items for sale.

I assume that you will protect the nipples some how with out pounding them into mushroom shape. Short sections of hard rubber tube slightly longer than the nipples will work. Never dry fire a percussion revolver.

If everything is still to original specification (which obviously it might not be) then the hammer will not strike the nipples on an ROA.

If you plan to dry fire it all winter why not just pull the nipples out for the time being?

He sheepishly sez "10"
one 3"
two 5.5"
five 7.5"
two 12"

Eight fixed sights, two adjustable sights
six stainless, four blued
six have conversion cylinders

& yep, I love them all

I wondered where they all went. I got mine last year, similarly priced but interestingly enough, it also had one rounded hex nipple. So I got a 'five shooter'. Just don't use that chamber, works for me. I load five.

I'm not sure there has ever been a ROA that hasn't had at least one rounded off nipple stuck in the cylinder. I recently had to rescue another one myself.

I only have one.
BUT, I have three Rogers & Spencer repos, two Remington New Army repos, A Spiller & Burr repo, and two second gen colts (1860 Army and a 1862 Pocket police) So you might say I like percussion revolvers.
