I found out today that one my cousins works for Rep. Mcarthy in D.C. :fire: He mentioned that while I was open carrying my 1911 at my grandparents place. We had a little discussion about gun control that got a little out of hand. This is very disturbing to me that I have a family member in Washington working against me. He has obviously been taken away and brainwashed by the moonbats. All the rest of my family is fairly pro RKBA and this just hit me like a ton of bricks. Needless to say this was a rather eventful Christmas.

Sorry mods if this doesn't belong here, feel free to move it where you think it's appropriate.

Ediited to correct Mcarty's title

Carolyn McCarthy is not a Senator, she is a Representative from New York. I have to assume you mean her, because her entry into politics is only because of this issue and she is known for being particularly against the rights of gun owners.

If you meant someone else by that name, sorry.

In the interest of family unity during the holiday I probably wouldn't have escalated anything. Did he start the argument or did you? What was the argument about specifically?

Smart cousin.

Embed with the enemy, disquise his true feeling, and then, well, I don't know what. I suppose run for president.

Joking aside, don't worry. We had a nice arguement about Iraq. Thanksgiving was Religion. And the Thanksgiving before that was gun control.

Luckily my uncle(the liberal), has a cute 4 y/o daughter that will break it up whenever voices unwittingly rise.

It wasn't really an argument, I was getting my gear together to go out back for a little target shooting, he mentioned his job and how he felt about NRA and GOA. I essentially told him he was on the wrong side of the issue and why I felt that way. I was a little irritated with the usual anti rhetoric and took my gear and went to do some shooting. I'm sure 500 rds of .45 really irritated him because he left shortly afterwards, it didn't bother any of the 25 or so family & friends that were there. I didn't escalate it beyond the level he took it to. I don't think I'm going to change his opinion, he certainly wont change mine. Sorry all, I'm just venting the frustration I'm feeling about having a family member working for the other team.

I know the feeling, Devon. My niece's husband interned for Democrat Senator Herb Kohl after graduating law school. (Kohl is the author of the 1000-foot school zone bill, among other notorious acts).

You can pick your friends, but not your relatives.

I had one that worked for FEMA for awhile. :fire: :cuss: :banghead: She got out shortly after the changeover to DHS. But she knew in no uncertain terms what I thought of her employer.

Most sheeple have NO IDEA what kind of government they have. I have my sister-in-laws over for the holidays. I asked my wife and SOL's at supper tonight if they knew what form of government we had. I even told them it was a one word answer.

My dear wife, whom I love to death despite her apathy about our government and our liberties, knew she was taking a shot in the dark when she said... well... I'll just say she said something completely way out in left field that I won't embarrass her further with.

One of the SOL's said "Democrat? Republican?" She only knew the names of the two most powerful parties, but nothing about the government itself.

The other SOL got the answer I was expecting from them, "Democracy." she said authoritatively. I told her I don't blame her for getting the answer wrong, but she did. She gave me the most puzzled look. I told them we lived in a republic, and how if we lived in a democracy it would open us up to a whole host of evils leading to socialism and then to communism. Their eyes kind of glazed over at this. Like most Americans, they could give a wet fart about how the country is run. :scrutiny:
