I had been looking for a Marlin 60 for some time. I wanted an 22" model. Really wanted the Glenfield. I saw this rifle on GB advertised as a 19" 15 rd model in unfired condition. So I bid on it and won. The auction was almost up, so no time to ask questions. After winning the auction, I was kicking myself for not holding out for what I wanted. Imagine my suprise when I got the rifle.
A 1989, 22" with 18rd capacity, bolt hold open on last shot and third screw behind trigger guard. And it was in almost unfired condition, reciever inside had no wear at all. I am a happy camper with this purchase.

I bought one a few months back for the kids to shoot very nice rifle for the money
i cant tell when it was made but it has a gold medalian on it. Good luck with it.

I believe you take the first two numbers of serial # and subtract from the year 2000. Mine was 11xxx, so that made it a 1989.

mmm... you got one of the holy grails of the mod 60. the full tube, long bbl, and last shot lever, was only made for 3 years, and then discontinued in 89'; so you must have got a left over one made from the last parts, for the next year of 89.
consider yourself lucky, and don't sell it, ever.

rangerruck, thanks for the good info, reason I floated the thread was because I thought it was a different rifle. I thought that this model was made up until 1985.

well, technically you are right; but the only years the made the long bbl, with the long tube, AND THEN ADDED THE LAST SHOT BHO, was from 85 to 88, and then phased them out in 89 , becuase of the ' new jersey rule', which cut feed tubes down to 14 max.
