I can't seem to stop building AR's of various configurations. I have 6 that I've built already for myself and am prepping #7.

Why does this happen?

I've built cheap models to middle of the road rifles, based on available funds and as I shop for parts, I keep wanting to build more. My safe is overflowing and now my addiction will cost me the funds necessary to buy a bigger safe.

What's wrong with me?

My darling wife bought me the Wheeler Delta Series - Ar armorer's pro kit for Xmas. I already own a RRA carbine and can't wait to start building my first! As temps here in N Wi have been of and on aroung 30 below, I have been feeverishly reserching and learning what I can while I wait for funds to start replenishing again:evil: Living is the middle of nowhere, the few local gunshops are out of the loop and don't have any lowers for me to start. I was lucky to find a complete lower (Stag arms) for sale though. I see how this is going to be addicting.:banghead: She also got me my first C&B 1851...another thing to learn all about and play with when the weather becomes tolerable again.

Roll pin starter set from Brownells will make life much easier. You can also make your own with correct drill sizes and some steel rods but buying them is much easier and likely cheaper once you total up your time and materials and LJ for what its worth.....I have built many more than you and currently have 3 - 80% percent lowers I am machining....when you start machining your own lowers you officially have a problem, but its a good problem.

I have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about, but I am listening.....

I finished my first last night. It's exhilarating. Add to the relative ease with which it is accomplished the fun of the search and it's easy to see why you keep wanting to do it. Plus, they are fun guns to shoot. I'm looking at doing another one as well.

yep, the hard part is that PSA keeps having sales on lower receivers for $49 and bravo co keeps selling blem m4 uppers for $74. and WOA keeps selling LPK for $40. heck, how can you not keep building ARs?

1,000+ rounds per each cailber (.223, 6.8 SPC, 7.62x39) with the exception of the .300 Blackout, which is hovering around 500 for now....

My personal opinion, and it's definitely worth what you paid for it in this instance, is to get more ammunition before building a 7th or 8th rifle.

Unless by 1,000+ for 5.56/.223 and 7.62x39 you mean, like, 5k+. I know the + leaves it open ended, but think of it this way: If ammunition goes to hell in a handbasket again, how long can you continue shooting at an unrestricted [due to your ammo situation] pace?

1k rounds can go quick when you get out and do stuff.
