My range trip today - got to try the Mateba!

Hey guys,

Just got back home from the range today, and thought I'd share my experience.

I went just to do some plain jane shootin', when an old guy (no offense to any old guys here:evil: ) showed up with some family. I overheard one of them say something about a Mateba. (my ears perked up at this point)

I went over to investigate, and sure enough right before my eyes was this...

The Mateba!!!!
After talking to him for a while, he offered to let me try it......:what: Boy was it something. Crisp trigger, and not as much recoil as I had expected. Quite an experience shooting a revolver and having it feel more like a 1911.

That's the whole story,... just thought you guys would appreciate it more than anyone else I tell this story to.

I tend to get :confused: looks from most everyone else that I tell this story to.

And I was so about to get in your face about that! :)

That is way cool. I never noticed that the bore line is at the bottom of the cylinder before. I'll bet it balances nicely.

Did you shoot it with "full house" loads? How long was the barrel? Huh? Huh?

Notice any torque on your wrist from the cylinder whipping around? How about any FTEs? Stovepipes? :D

O'course, I'd pet the kitten afterward and, y'know, double socks for the kick.

This one was a 6 incher with a compensator on it. I shot full house .357 loads. It was noticeably less recoil than my 4" 686p.

This definitely made my day.:evil:

I own a Mateba Autorevolver cal. .454 Casull, 91/2" barrel... I've never shoot magnum loads, only mild .45 LC rounds, but I'm planning to shoot Casull rounds this week... i'll let you know how it behaves...:D
