Today was a great day!

I had the day off so a buddy and I took a trip to Albuquerque to do some gun shop browsing. Well the first gun shop had nothing but upon visiting the second one I found exactly what I wanted. Sitting on the rack was a Remington 513-T Matchmaster and I knew I just had to give it a home.

The gun is in good condition and the date code on the barrel is MM which would date it to 1943! It is marked "US Property" on the barrel and receiver and also marked "Military Finish". The stock is marked "FJA" and "LK". Also included was a small piece that that clerk said was a scope mount (last pic).

Anyway I hope I got a good deal on this, they were originally asking $535 but it was on sale for $399.

Here are some pics....

Our Pots Shots are using these rifles. They are very durable.

One junior complained about a "hair" trigger. I examined the rifle and found the trigger to be around a pound pull. I adjusted it to about 3.5 pounds. But I was amazed that on that rifle the trigger was a clean pound pull and it did not follow.

Target shooters would pay good money for a trigger like that.
