Hey Folks !,

I took my new .40 cal pistol to the range yesterday i fired a 50 rond box of federals through it.To be honest,i wasn't to impressed and happy about my groupings. It wasn't as accurate as my P220 .45.But i did keep all shots within the black and near the 10 ring.Of course ,i did change the target sheets every 12 shots.
I then rented a gorgeous Kimber Eclipse Custom II 1911 and fell in LOVE with it ! Great trigger pull, feel, heft, pointability, and just sheer high quality !!

So my question is :
Do you think my accracy will improve with my Sig Pro as i shoot it some more ?
I am familiar with the proper stance, trigger squeeze, steadiness, and breathing that is required for target shooting.

Did you shoot lousey with your new pistols the first time you broke-it-in
at the shooting range ?

I find that different guns behave differently, or maybe I behave differently with different guns. It may be the gun's accuracy is not as great or that you just handle it differently. Possibly more time spent with the SIG will improve your results.

If you can, get yourself a sand bag or something similar that you can solidify the gun on so that you can reduce the human factor from your shooting. I was disappointed with my new XDm when I got it. Springfield suggestd that I sandbag it. The results showed th gun to be accurate, it was me who was inaccurate. So I would suggest bench resting the SIG and do the same with the P220. Let us know what happens.

thanks !

i'll try resting it on the stall's bench.I would be very dissapointed if the pistol was inaccurate.....

My Sig Pro is actually my most accurate firearm. Or at least it meshes with me the best. I noticed IMO my sigPro likes a softer grip and likes to be free, more than say your typical XD or glock where i have to hold them as firm as possible.

I think if you keep an open mind, you'll find the sweet spot and the Pro will treat you right.

Im no "Pro" and i can get a 4-5" grouping at 25 yards with my pro effortlessly.

Heck, maybe its the bar type sights? I actually really dis-like the sight picture on my pro... i painted a 3 dot system on it actually.

Not many people seem to shoot .40S&W very well, it's a difficult round to master.

I wouldn't blame the SiGPro, they are excellent pistols, my 9mm is a superb firearm.

Sounds like someone has a 1911 in their future ;)

Why work hard to shoot well? If you shoot that Kimber well in the get-go, you're gonna' be shootin' like gangbusters in a short time.

got a 220 elite ,love it great accuracy also have a 228 same thing for me they both seemed to shoot well from the gittyup hard to beat a sig imo

wanbanzer is correct.
The gun itself is increadably accurate and will outshoot the shooter.
I am a long range shooter as well as a pistol competitor. The gun has the accuracy but will only reflect the human imput at the time of primer ignition to the time it takes to clear the barrel.
I have a Ranson rest type system for checking the absolute accuracy of pistols and lasers. I can't tell you how many times I have been at a range testing and someone has watched the process. Shoots perfect mounted in the rest, not in the hands of the shooter.
Practise , concentrate on stance/grip/sight picture/breating cycle/trigger control/ & trigger follow thru.
Shooting a 22lr at 200+ yards has dramaticly progressed my pistol shooting as well.

Do you have the DA/SA model with the decocker? I bought my father in law a used blue line (LEO) model that was DAO and he said he couldn't hit much with it. Something about a 12 pound trigger pull just doesn't help your accuracy.
