My oldest son called me Sunday morning to let me know that he killed a nice 10 point with his .30-06 after missing it with his bow. The deer was running and he shot it twice before it fell. One shot to the shoulder and the other in the neck.
Later on it rained and then the rain let up for a while. He got back in the same stand and saw 4 or 5 more bucks. The last one looked good and he shot it in the spine with his bow. DRT. He called me at about 4 to tell me that he had got another one. I just got home and he showed me the heads. They are both nice bucks. Not massive, but good solid racks. I wish I could show pictures, but my phone is so old and so am I. He is emailing me pictures as I write this.
Luck of the Irish I guess, but that will be a day he will never forget.
