Well .... I guess range reports can be boring but ...... I write today's up because, quite simply .. my wife was soooo good.
Let me say first, she is not heavily into guns and so for quite some time has done very little shooting at all ... really, not much experience other than .22 plinking with rifle and maybe a coupla shots with a .357. I did tho want to get her to the range and run thru some stuff ... been long overdue really.
So, what did we take .... well, I decided to take her thru any of the guns she might just ''need in a hurry'' ..... which included, M85 snub, M66 357, Single six .22, FEG, P95 and P97 ... plus Win94 carbine and SAR1.
We worked thru everything and she shot incredibly well - 15yds .... having first done a lot of ''familiarization, dry firing, loading/unloading etc.
I stuck to 38 spl loads for M66 but she was grouping very well .. and even did well D/A at the end against pop bottles! . She even managed to get all on the paper D/A thru snub and that ain't the easiest. She found semi's harder but she soon got familiar with mechanisms and actually did well with FEG. The P series were actually just toodamn big for her ... both re hand size and strength etc ..... but she did get shots on the paper from P97 ... we didn't bother with P95.
Then albeit from sandbags mostly and at approx only 40 yds ..... she put ten shots thru Win 98, ALL very central and close ..... 3 outa ten she put on from standing and they were all with the rest!
Finally ... and this is why I wanted to post a target (below) ....... she shot 10 thru the SAR! .. the first and only time she has tried it ..... again, admittedly, from sandbags but, hell ..... apart from quick familiarization, she was raw novice on it. I reckon ( OK, OK ... sure I am biased!!) .... that she did as well if not better than anyone might for first time and being overall pretty much novice.
Bless her .... she is the greatest and a quick learner ...... I feel so confident now in her abilities to, if need arose ......... pick up any of these pieces and manage extremely well.
The target BTW ......... I am a mean SOB and keep slapping on sticky patches ... so this has loads of them ... most in fact represent the bulk of her handgun and Win 94 shooting too .... from which you'll see she didn't too too bad.
If you've read thru this lot .. thank you ..... this is one ol fart just happy to have a priceless wife. She is so much at ease with the M66, that will now be her HD gun ... which I am well pleased about.
