I bought a set of grips, a nice set of stags. They apparently fit an Officer sized 1911, but only if the lower bushing is moved up about 1/8 inch. In other words, the holes in the grips are 1/8 inch too close together. The cut for the mag release is exactly correct, as is the size and bevel of the grips. I don't think anyone would make grips this precise and then booger up the screw hole on both sides.
I have tried them on my Colt Compact (Officer's ACP) with the results above. I tried them on my Star Model B and Star BM with no joy. I tried them on my Paraordnance C6.45, no joy.
I don't have any Mini Springfield or Kimber to try them on, but I am taking them to a gun store today for that purpose.
The mystery is...what do they fit? Any ideas? Any wagers?
Anyone want to bet Xavier will try them on before he opens his wallet next time? :banghead:
