fine for a .22 anything else and ya'll have lenses fallin out and don't expect to maintain any consistancy as to POA and POI, the lenses are glued in not rubber mounted etc.. like a real scope, this is pretty consistant with all the china made scopes, some are glued better than others so ya might get off 10 rnds instead of only 5 before it comes apart..

I have a NcStar 4x on my AR and it seems to work fine. The optics are bright and so far it has held its zero. However I can definately tell that it is not a $150+ scope. It works just fine for cheep plinking and that was all I wanted it for.

Keep in mind that a fixed power is more rugged than variable power so the 10-40 might not hold up as well (I don't know/no experience). If all you want is cheep optic to tide you over until you can afford a better one, and the scope is cheep enough that you wont feel bad throwing it away in a year when/if it breaks, go for it.;)

I have one, or an NcStar very close to it rather, and for what you pay, they're amazing.

Having said that, the clicks aren't very repeatable, and there's some lack of clarity at high power.

My wife has shot a 900 yard competition with one on a Rem 700P and it not only survived, but kept right up with my Leupold MkIV, so again, for what you pay....

i have had great experiences so far with NC star scopes and red dots. I have a shorty NC star on my carry handle AR (Works great sited at 50 - 100 yards) and I have seen the one you want. The quality isnt as good as a $300+ scope but its a good scope for what your can pay or afford. Sometimes you have to work with what you can afford until you can afford it just like another poster mentioned.
