The Purdue Rifle/Pistol club has half a dozen old 41s, the best of which get used by the less experienced people on our pistol team. A girl started shooting with us this year that has very small hands. Even with our smallest grips, she can still barely get the tip of her finger on the right half of the trigger, making her push her shots left. I have three questions for everybody:

Does anyone know of a source of small grips for the 41? I've been looking, but have had no luck.

I was thinking of getting a normal size set of grips and dremeling them down to fit her. I've also heard mention here and there of grip putty you can use to custom form your own. Has anyone used it, and does anyone know where I could get some? What method seems better to you?

I also had the idea of cutting a couple pieces of plexiglass to fit the grip panels, putting some saran wrap around the front and back straps, then covering it all in epoxy putty and having her grip it to form them. Any thoughts on this?

I have cut down and re-checkered Model 41 grips to more closely match a 1911 grip.

There is quite a bit of excess wood there to work with.

RCmodel...What's the probability of posting a pic or 2 of the revised 41 grips. I've got 2 of the pistols 1959 and early 1990, and am also a leftie. Would really like to do something to them to fit me better.
