Just bought & installed a Jewell 2-Stage Trigger for my Varmint AR. Previous owner was Military High-Power Rifle Competitor and had it set-up for 4 lb. weight. The deal didn't include the factory paperwork or instructions.

I need to know the adjustable features of a Jewell Trigger & the "how to" on adjusting it. I've searched various websites & can't locate diagrams, explainations & instructions. Any suggestions or links would be appreciated.

Thanks!

From memory and all disclaimers apply. Use this info at your own risk.

The lever and teeth on the left of the trigger group is the first stage adjustment. The farther back the lever is the heavier the first stage pull.

The screw on the front right is the over travel adjustment. The screw on the front left is the sear engagement. If this screw is backed out too far the trigger will not catch the sear and will fall. The rear screw adjusts the second stage weight.

You should not have to touch anything except the first stage lever. The sear engagement should already be set. If this came from a highpower shooter it was set at 4.5 lbs most likely with most of the weight on the first stage. Just move the lever forward to lighten the first stage pull.

This is from a some what foggy memory, good luck and be careful.

Thanks Howard!

I've called Jewell Triggers, Inc. (San Marcos, Texas) and explained my situation, including the fact that my trigger was used, etc. and asked if I could BUY a set of factory paperwork. "NO! You CAN'T BUY the instructions" the guy said..."but if you'll give me your address and I'll send you a set out for free in tomorrow's mail".

Before I called, I was wondering how a well-known trigger company like Jewell could get along in today's business environment WITHOUT a website. Now, I think I know. If your product is good enough, you stand behind your product firmly enough, and provide extra service that customers truly appreciate...you don't need a website. You just need a phone.

I pay Cingular/ATT a WAD of money every month for my cell phone "service" and if I have a problem they behave like they don't know me. Contrastingly, Jewell Triggers finds out that a second-hand owner of one of their products needs something...and THEY treat me like I'm a valued customer.

THANK YOU Jewell Triggers! (*Cingular/ATT, go learn some manners & smart business lessons in San Marcos, Texas.)
