Hi all, just trying to work out what model of scope is on the .22, it was my parents but they don't know much about it. The scope is an old nikko stirling gold crown, 3-9X40. its black and fairly scratched on the outside, but still holds its zero as far as i can tell. Is this scope designed for rimfire rifles, airguns, or centrefires? I think it may have been made in japan, rather than china, where (or so ive heard) the new line of nikko stirlings are made. Just wondering if it is suitable for centrefire rifles, and what the eye relief is. I cannot find any reference to gold crowns on the nikko stirling website. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks
