Hi Guys,

I am in desperate need of a loading lever latch for my Armi San Marco 1847 Walker. The little spring like bar that is fitted to the underside of the barrel & holds up the loading lever.

The one I had has snapped & I need one to replace it ASAP as the State title western action shoot is coming up here in Australia soon & I need my Walker :uhoh:

VTI tell me they don't make them anymore :confused::confused:

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

You better order a few of them. I wouldnt doubt the Uberti may fit as well. If yours snapped and you get truely desperate. Slide the old one off if you have both parts. Take it to a mechanic or machine shop. Have them weld it up. Then you can file it down. It will be stronger than ever.

Oh deer creek parts is on the east time

Get you a small piece of spring steel and shape it and then you or someone else weld it in place. Sand it down, polish it and blue it and you're good to go.
You can also just get you a small box of rubber bands and slip one over the barrel and lever as an emergency remedy.
When I typed this I didn't realize that Mr. Scrat had already given you a pretty good solution....

Mr goon,
see ssfirearms.com they list on p32 of their catalog the only part for a 1847 Uberti Walker they carry is the loading lever catch. Part # 1847-1 @ $14 USD. I'm assuming the L L Catch is the spring that dovetails under the barrel and holds the loading lever up. It might not fit the ASM but it could be built up or filed/ground down to fit. I believe I have one I bought a few years ago when I modified the shapes on my two guns just incase I botched one up I had a replacement for it. Let me know if you absolutely cant find one in stock I'm willing to part with mine if you can't get one from a sutler. Do a search for civil war sutlers. A lot of them sell repro C&B gun parts.

Thanks so much Gents for all your help :)

Mr Hellgate, thank you so much for your kind offer Sir, you are a true Gentleman.

I am in the process of getting a gunsmith to fix it for me, he says he should be able to do it for me. Here's hoping.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Looks like I'll have to keep shooting my Dragoons until I can get it fixed ;):D

Take care.
