I'm looking for a walther-style .32 acp. fiancee' won't shoot anything above a 32 acp- and she HATES any form of "kick". (A 32 kicks???) So, I figure we can't go with the light 32s like KelTecs and NAAs, because the light weight gives the gun more kick. However, I also need a concealable size (Smaller than "full size" 32s)

A Walther PPK/S would be great- but they're a little expensive for my tastes. I believe Bersa, Sig, and some other manufacturers have what we're looking for.

ANY suggestions are welcome.

try to find an old 1903 colt in 32 acp...

taurus makes a few that might fit the bill as well...

In my opinion the colt 1903 pocket pistol in .32 acp is the best made. I have two of them that I love beyond words. nice sturdy construction, acurate, and reliable for over 103 years of solid use. only nine rounds to a mag, but if you need more than that you should be workin on your aim a bit.

heeeh, I guess mathew george beat me to the recomendation.

The kick from a Keltec P32 is surprisingly mild. See if you can try one before writing it off.

I've got a Colt 1903, and I've often thought it would be ideal for just this sort of situation. It's got a large enough grip to accomodate all of your fingers, but it's a very slim gun, and designed without any sharp corners to hang up on clothing. Heavy enough to pretty much negate all the recoil...way more comfortable to shoot than a Makarov, for instance.

thanks guys. She shot the NAA 32 acp and blew it off. I believe the kel tec is lighter in weight, isn't it? Wouldn't that kick more?

As for the CZ 83... she's 5'1/102lbs... her hands are very small. Would the "double stacked" mag make the grip too much wider??

I believe the NAA is a blowback design. The Keltec is a locked breech design. The perceived recoil is surprisingly mild.

It shouldn't be too big. From my measurements, shouldn't be much wider than a 1911 grip... though my measurements may be off (using .45 cartridges as a ruler). If she can wrap a hand around a normal salt shaker, should be no problem.
Probably want to try one out, first, and a lot of stores don't stock the 83 in .32. The .380 should be the same size, so you could test at a place that had CZs. Here's CZ's site, with the dealer locator:
http://www.cz-usa.com/dealer_locator.php?m=3
Or check at some of the shooting ranges.

I have no practical experience with the .32, but...

-I too have heard that the recoil is VERY minimal on the Kel-Tec P32.

-Bersa makes one quality firearm! I own a Thunder .380 and could shoot it all day. I'd imagine there should be little recoil with the Thunder .32. I wonder if they make the new smaller Concealed Carry line in .32 yet?

But again, recoil is subjective to the one feeling it....

Wow - very good deal. And the 15rd mags aren't that hard to find. Gunbroker has them, but the sellers don't seem to realize what they've got, and call them 12rd'rs instead - 11303, according to the CZ forum folks.

Let the hit count rise

THR moderator PAX has an excellent site written from her perspective on women and guns. Tons of great info that should help both you and your fiancee. www.corneredcat.com

A used Walther PP or PPK may be affordable. The PP may be a little big for her. My son has a Kel Tec P3AT and the recoil from it is not bad so the .32 should be even more managable. Other than that everything I can think of is covered above.

The Burnside Ninja,

Didn't you already ask this question in another thread here?

Or was it over at The Firing Line?

I think this has been answered either here, there or both places already.

Go with the Walther PP's (not PPK). They're only slightly larger and less than half the price. I loved mine and want another one.

I have a CZ83 in .32. It is indeed very mild in recoil. As to whether your fiancee' can grip it comfortably can only be answered by doing it. However, the CZ 83 grip is not fat. They have a relatively long grip, easily accomodating three fingers. Mine is a bit ammo sensitive and likes European ammo more than American. S&B works well.

I also shoot a Seecamp .32. The recoil is much harsher than the CZ, if you can call a .32 harsh at all. The Seecamp has a one finger grip...makes a big difference.

One attribute of the CZ83 .32 is that it is remarkably accurate. I mean "Holy Cow" type accurate. Shoots almost as well as my HK P7, and that is saying alot.:what:

The CZ83 is hard to find, in particular in the .32 caliber. your best bet would be the internet. I see them on Gunbroker often.

Glock .32 and .380 are not sold in the USA.

Bersa and Firestorm (same as Bersa just a different name to get around importation issues) makes walther like .32. The CZ-83 it also similar.

Ditto on the Kel Tec P32 having a light recoil due to the browning breech lock design. I shot my friends an it's not too bad.

Watch the used PPKs some are good, some where jamomatics. German ones are always better. Do a google on PPK
