Need Load Data for S&W 29-3 44mag. using 260gr WFN Bullets

Need Help. I have bought LEAD bullets from Montana Bullet Works for my S&W 29-3 Classic Hunter W/6" Barrel
The mold used was a LBT 260gr. WFN and 250gr. LFN.

I have about 12lbs. of 700X powder that I would like to use if possible.
I want to try the two different bullet styles to see which bullet my gun likes.

i can not find much on that. to fast of powder. i seen the 240 gr. bullet on hodgdons website was at 40k psi with slow velocity at only 9 grains. I do not think that can be done with the heavier bullet especially to accuracy test. maybe others will chime in.

My SRH and marlin 1894 absolutely hated 700x with plated 240gr RN.
Like said above, its too fast. You can make some decent plinking loads in the 7-8gr range, but velocity will not be near what it would with h110, imr4227, etc. If you want magnum velocity, get a slower powder.

700X will work for light plinking/target loads with those lead bullets in .44 Mag, but nothing over that. It is way too fast for even medium loads, much less max loads.

OP, where are you trying to go? Light plinkers, moderate magnum, or full power? The hardness rating of the lead will be a major determining factor in how fast you can go with them, as well as what powders you have available.
