Got me a small problem, basically I may need to find a replacement barrel for a Winchester model 70, 7mm magnum.

This may sound wierd to some, but my bore snake got stuck and then the end of it broke off so there's 24" of plugged barrel, problem is I can't push it from either end and it's too far in there for me to snag it to pull it out.

Already tried the obvious and called Winchester, but they don't sell barrels, just firearms. Looked online but can't seem to find a factory repalcement barrel.

Maybe just maybe, someone here may be able to shed some light on this.
Got any ideas where I may be able to find a barrel or maybe some neat little trick to getting this one unplugged?

If you ever get the barrel clear, follow this simple advice:

LOSE THE BORE SNAKE AND DON'T EVER BUY OR USE ONE AGAIN!!!!

Get a good cleaning rod.

I'm with Jim on that. I'm seeing these stuck Boresnake threads popping up on all the different boards with frightening regularity. They can be removed though with a lot of effort. Good luck to you and I hope yours comes out easily and without damage. By the way, if you like the flexible rod concept, try the Otis kit. It works great and can't break in the bore.

SUCCESS!!!

Finally after some thought I took an old bore brush attachment i had, cut one side off to make a "screw" then took a 12" long 3/16" drill bit ( I know some of you are cringing right now, but I didn't attach it to a drill, just hand screwed it in and then used pliers to go a little farther), used the drill bit to remove some of the stuck snake which took a while, took the "modified" brush attachment and screwed it in the back of the snake. Then pulled.

That thing came out so easy it amazed me.

This was after I bought some 1/4" oak dowels and broke those after a couple of swats.:banghead:

Thanks everyone for your support!!!
No more snakes for me. . . . solid one piece rods and guides from now on!
