I had a Huntsman for last hunting season and found it to be an excellent firearm. I'd highly recommend it for hunting. Mine was quite accurate with CVA Powerbelt bullets over 70 grains of powder. The rifle is light and shoulders nicely with a great recoil pad if you're going to be shooting heavier bullets or bigger loads. The 209 ignition system is excellent in any weather, even rain. The fiber optic sights are easy to adjust and excellent in low light. You can mount a scope, but you don't really need to for hunting ranges with a muzzle loader. Two considerations I would offer--first, be sure you have enough "primer carriers," the orange plastic piece in which you insert your primer to load the gun. I believe it comes with one, but it's good to have 4 or 5 for quick reloading or in case you lose one in the field. You can get extras from H&R 1871, the company that sells the Huntsman. The second consideration is that the front sight is easy to knock off or break (as is the case with a lot of in-lines. The answer is just "be careful." You can replace them if they get broken, but it takes time and money, so be careful and you'll be okay. This rifle is an excellent hunting option even if you have more money to spend. The only reason I sold mine is I'm hunting primitive now--traditional muzzle-loader this year and I plan to go flintlock next year. Good luck. Jack
