Neos at the range

Got a chance to take My latest purchase out to the range, a Beretta Neos.
It's the six inch blued version, regular type. Not a DLX model. No optics yet, just plain old iron sights for now.
I have to say, I am very happy with this pistol thus far.

The range is an indoor type, nothing special.
I took along a total of 450 rounds. In the mix was 250 rounds of winchester "Super X" T22 target type, 100 rounds of Remington "Thunderbolt", and 100 rounds of Remington "22 target".
All functioned in the Neos with zero problems.

I was shooting targets(not benched) at twenty-five and fifty feet. My groups were ranging anywhere from just under half an inch to one and a half inches. I know this pistol is capable of better accuracy than that of the shooter. My best groups were done with the Remington target ammo.
The trigger has some creep and overtravel, but is not that bad at all. It's a good, decent trigger out of the box. Could it be better? Sure. But it's a plinker, not an olympic/target grade competition pistol. No complaints here.

Supplied magazines seem to be of good design and quality. Very easy to load. Even eaiser to run dry with a quick trigger finger. have to order some more of those very soon.
I can't believe how easy this pistol is to field strip and clean. Some great design went into the Neos. Kudos to Beretta on the design in general.

For the price I paid, and the type of workmanship displayed in the Neos, I do believe I made a great choice. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

I hope Beretta really has gotten it right this time, but the design is not really theirs. It started as the old High Standard Duramatic around 1954, later became the High Standard M101 "Plinker". Still later, the design was bought by Colt and used on their Colt Cadet (later called just the Colt 22 because of legal problems involved in use of the "Cadet" name. We shall see if the third time is the charm.

The design is not bad except that spring balance is very tricky, and fixing them is never as easy as it should be.

I really love how all the recent Berettas (the Storm, NEOS, and 9000 series) all have that... Nike look. I mean, look at the grip on the NEOS, it looks like a running shoe. And the Storm? The 9000? I think Beretta's selling subliminal ad-space to Nike for discretely implying the swoosh on everything...

Don't get me wrong, Berettas are delicious, like pie. Sweet, delicious pie.
