I went to visit a gun shop today, hoping to find something interesting. They have some sale going on, (okay, it's not great, but reasonable discount).

I previously bought this gun in July, and pleased with quality and performance. Looks they get it right this time. :D

I brought $1300 in cash with me. They seem to be pushing the M&P a lot. I bought one, I'm just not too interested in them; I think they're average. I saw an Inox 92fs, and Sig XO. I wonder how good the reliability out of the box on that one, if it's great, I'd be interested. Does anyone have one of those? Dammit I can't choose! :what:

Personally I don't care for the M&P.

I like the feel of the new beretta PX4 storm, but I haven't shot one yet.

The FN FNP seems like a nice pistol and an even better price. Havn't had the pleasure of actually shooting one yet.

The ruger sr9 seems very nice except for the trigger. I don't care for the trigger. I havn't gotten around to test firing one yet.

i have a taurus pt92af. DAM this thing is reliable. it has been through a roll over car accident, in which it was thrown 50 yards and filled with gravel, thrown in a stream(on accident) covered with sweat and blood, and not ONCE have i had a jam with it. the finish is also great, after all that it only has some very minor scratches. i highly recommend this pistol!

The M&P feels fantastic in my hand but there have been too many reports of problems with them lately for me to consider one. I have also heard a LOT of bad reviews on the Sig 1911's so I'd avoid those. The Sig Classic P-series are all good except for the P220's that have been produced in the last year. Those have extractor problems. Try an XD, Glock or Sig P229. Any of those would be great guns.

there really isn't anything wrong with:

springfield XP
smith M&P
glock (any)
CZ (any)
beretta (any)
SIG (any)

try 'em all in your hand and see which 2-3 works best for you, then rent 'em and shoot 'em and see which shoots best for you.

$1300 is a lot of breathing room, but you don't need to spend all $1300 to get a good gun...

CZ (any but the 100)
beretta (any but the 9000)

There, fixed it for you. :)

Get a Glock in your chosen caliber and just send me the rest of the money and I will do the same, then we will both be happy. :)

I understand that is the autoloader forum, but if you are interested in keeping the value of your 1300 you might want to put a little more and get a Springfield Armory M1a.

I went to my last gunshow looking for an M&P Compact and ended up walking out with a HK P2000SK .40.

Go figure...

Nice picture, but it looks like you have more than $1300. there

I don't know what you have in your "collection" or what you are into (S&Ws, Colts, Sigs, etc).

If I had $1300. (or $2500.) to spend on a gun or two, I'd go with a Black rifle of some kind, maybe a .308. Invest in some extra hi-cap mags and a bunch of ammo for it.

If you are already set up with a nice EBR or two, maybe pick up a stripped lower or two. IMHO, they are good to have on hand with the uncertainty of the up coming election. If the Reps win, you can always build one or turn around and sell them for what you paid.

like the feel of the new beretta PX4 storm, but I haven't shot one yet.

Love mine. Have about 2500 rounds through it with only one FTE and that was using cheap ammo.

$1300 would have a new Colt’s WWI reissue in my safe with about $300 left to buy or start saving for the next gun. :)
