I love my RO. Difficult to beat the amount of pistol you get for the money. The only edge for the Ruger, would be for the stainless steel, if you're concerned about maintaining a "finish".

Glad I have the RO, and don't have to make a decision. :confused: :confused:

Pretty is as pretty does. The springer is a match grade pistol, with match grade parts and match grade tuning. I think they have this right in offering a great shooter without all the expensive add-ons that most folks can buy.

The ruger is pretty, but apparently the sights fall off, and in no way is it tuned or set up like the springer. To be fair to ruger, they do not market it for competition. For the same money, I'm on that springer like buzzards on a gut wagon.
 
IMO, 1911's are not the best platform for a frame mounted rail. They are ugly as a mud fence, and good luck finding a holster for one equipped with one. Even if you do, they are more difficult to draw cleanly. Skip the rail, or buy something designed for it.
