Well I've gone and done it now. I had to take a photo of the new baby. The "little one" is a Winchester .300 magnum. The little bit larger one is a McMillan .50 cal repeater action. The barrel is on the way from Montana and the stock will be finished in a few weeks. Holy cow this thing is BIG:what:
More to come as the baby grows..........

Yes it is a Lilja. Two inch diameter at the breach, 38 inches in length.
No on the elephants- only used for defense against paper at 1000 yds.

you can never be too careful with those paper targets, make sure you give them a double tap to make sure they stay down :p

have fun with that monster, how much will the total build cost be when you are done?

mustager - I don't think anything is 'wounded' with an 800 grain bullet!
:D :D :D
As for build cost, slightly more than what I would like to tell the wife:eek:

Yeah, especially since a near miss will still rip your arm off... I guess that means the paper will probably be shredded by the force of the bullet passing by.:what: :neener:

Usually there are nice half inch holes. Unless some joker shows up with incendiaries:fire:
I have heard the fearsome 1000 yd paper monster is a little nervous when someone shows up on the line with a 42 pound rifle...
Hopefully the stock will be finished before Xmas. I would like to get everything assembled and tested by late spring. Still waiting on a muzzle brake as well.
