Anybody have any experience with the new "wide slide" version of the .32 Tomcat. Has this improvement fixed the slide cracking issues.

Would like to get one as I want to step up from my PT22 which has been very reliable and very compact.

I looked and tried the P238 and was very impressed especially will very little felt recoil but at over $500 a little out of my range.

My criteria for a pocket gun is all metal, decent weight, and reliability.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

@pikid89 If you are referring to a J frame like a Taurus 85, I have one but do not consider it a pocket gun because of size and weight.

There are mixed reports about whether the wide slide fixes the problem with cracked frames. The Beretta Tomcat is large for a 32 acp. It's huge compared to the Kel-tec.

i dont blame you for not wanting to carry an all stainless revolver in your pocket...i was more referring to a S&W 642 or even a M&P 340/ 340PD...if you wait for someone who is scared of theirs to sell it real quick, you can get a 12oz revolver for 5 or 600 bucks, and have ammo that puts 32 ACP to shame

I would try each of the search engines and enter tomcat or 3032 cracked frame or a close variation, as threads on the problem and its resolutions are scattered somewhat. Check the posting dates to find recent ones. It is what I did a couple of years ago to get info on the problem.
