Sig is to have a commander size GSR and S&W's .460 cartridge is to be chambered on thier X-frame. Maybe another new SIG (in .22lr) also - Mosquito or something like that I was told.
Had forgotten aboiut the new Beretta - tahnx berettaman. It's actually the first of that brand I'd actully consider buying. It at least looks like something I'd be interested in and be comfortable to hold/shoot.
i'd add the hk p2000sk to the list. oh yeah, they were supposed to come out in 2004, but only a few hundred (if that) actually made it to the US market so far this year. I have yet to see one in person. also, even davidsons law enforcement hasn't gotten them so far.
It looks like i'll end up buying one in July when I get by FY05 uniform and gear allowance.
Every try to conceal carry an HK USP .45f. Getting easier in the winter, but summer was a no go for me.
I thought German companies were supposed to be punctual. They stated at the 2004 SHOT show that April was the expected release date. I'll believe April 2005.
CZ USA will be debuting the new CZ75 Compact 40 in January, which may or may not be called the CZ75 PO4. It will have an alloy frame similar to the PO1, inluding M3 rail, but in 40 Smith and Wesson caliber, with 12 round mags, I believe. Also coming in April or May will be the new full size special duty CZ75 variant, the SP01, with 18 round magazine - I have recieved a very highly placed report that the mags can be easily tricked to take 19 rounds. All steel, decocker version and standard, with many of the refinements from the now legendary PO1 included. Many people look to this new pistol as a new standard for IDPA, while others view it as a weapon for SWAT or SpecOps. All I know is I want one of each!
Interested? Contact CZ-USA.http://www.cz-usa.com/ No, I don't work there, but I wish I could!
That CZ75 compact looks sweet. I'm like you, I want one of each! The factory is not but about 10 miles from here....and I've never been there. I wonder if they'd give any kind of tour?
Gonna have to find out I think!
New issue of "Shooting Times" just hit the mailbox. Mentioned SA is bringing out a new 1911 designed completely around the .45 GAP, i.e. slide rear will be shorter including firing pin and guts. Frame is shorter front to back of grip making it fit most {?} hands better, etc.
Don't give a hoot about the GAP but since it's the same case length as a 9mm, they'd be fools not to make them in 9. Hope that other mfg's. will get on the bandwagon and eventually offer in 9mm LW Commander size. Would snap one of those up in a minute for CCW and IDPA ESP, etc!
On the other hand it's hard to believe SA will have it available in '95 given their track record?
The P2000sk in 9mm is one that I WILL get in '05. I've seen them and gotta say, it's proberly one of THE best feeling autos I've ever held. Local shop has 2 of 'em. With the P7 seires guns being doscontinued in '05, I'll get at least one more of them first.
Kel-Tec will introduce something for 2005 at the Shot Show but nobody knows what yet. Lots of hopes for a single stack 9MM somewhat smaller than the P-11.
Yup it does, I'll give ya that. However, when three distributors say they'll be discontinued and a rep at HK-USA says they'll be discontinues AND the new HK LE catalog has in text that they'll be discontinued AND that when all '05 P7 series guns will be built only for the pre-orders recieved for them, weeelll, ya gotta kinda think that maybe, just maybe, they're gonna be discontinued in '05. Sorry.
I'll be placing an order for a P7M13 sometime soon and maybe pick up another M8 later in the year. All other "want list" guns just got bumped.
