We have a number of new folks and even some seasoned folks, that really have not kept up with new guns; and what kind of box, how many magazines, or any accessories a new Revolver or Semi Auto comes with.

Why don't we post when the gun was bought (for time line), some Revolver & Semi Auto makes and models with this information.

Yeah we could have folks look this up, still some new folks , even some seasoned ones, are not that computer and Internet savvy.
Some folks that lurk, and others finding us doing search, might appreciate this too.

Now if someone has an older gun, say a Smith & Wesson revolver, and a new version of same gun is available, it would educational and neat to see how times have changed.

Git, go, get busy...*grin*

Any recently produced gun is going to come in a plastic case capable of being locked. Most will include a lock of some kind (usually a cable type, although an older Kahr of mine came with a triggerguard-mounted one). Some will have a fired cartridge case, as required in a couple of oppressed states. A Glock pistol I purchased in 1998 had a plastic bore brush. German-made SIG pistols and, more recently, a CZ pistol have a test target. (The one for the CZ is rather curious; it is a computer printout of the bullet strikes.) For an older gun, my 1982 Colt Python came in a cardboard box with a form-fitted styrofoam insert.

May '07 Kimber Custom II. Worlds crummiest plastic box, lock and one 7rd mag.

Oct. '07 Ruger 22/45 Less crummiest plastic box, lock, and two 10rd mags

Jan. '08 Sako/Tikka T3 Cardboard box w/ styrofoam partitions, appropriate hex keys, lock, scope rings, quick release hardware for sling but no sling.

You can't make me admit to any more, my wife might look at the forum.

Nope, not true. Kel-Tec pistols, keeping true to the crap that they are, come in a cardboard box. Now that's class for ya.

My latest gun came in a carboard box with some bubble wrap and crumpled up brown paper, came with a sling, oil can, ammo pouch, cleaning rod, already attached bayonet and smelled of cosmoline.

Handguns came in injection molded cases. Ruger is the worst, no handle, not padded, not all that useful to take to the range.

All guns except the mil surp came with a lock...I use the locks to lock up my tool boxes.
