I understand they are now making them again. Was wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on one yet ?

Uh...

I read on another forum that the reps were telling people at the SHOT show that the 1894's were slated for 3rd-4th quarter this year, and just read on another forum from someone that is in the industry that he was told May at the earliest by Remington reps...

Where did you hear that they are being made now?

I've been checking with my Remington rep occasionally, as of a month or so ago they were supposed to come available in May & I'm supposed to be on the list for a test sample.
Latest I've heard.

They could be in early production now, stockpiling to ship next month if the new processes turn out well.

I have wanted an 1894C for a couple of years now, but refuse to pay the crazy prices that the older ones ar commanding now...

Till I find one at my price, I will continue to load my .35 Rem at .357 velocities I guess...

Handled one at the largest lgs in the area yesterday in .44 mag. Owner assures me they ARE in fact being made and ordered me a .357. Says a couple of weeks......we'll see. That's an 1894 c blued ....he says no more stainless will be made.

P.S.

The one I handled was an SS.

I handled them at SHOT and was very disapointed, they are crude to say the least. There were grinder marks on the outside and on the 39, I had to slap the lever shut. They also have bulky rounded stocks on them.

Idiots. I would think the fact that like-new and NIB SS models are selling for $1500 and more (much higher than the selling prices for the blued guns) would indicate an unfulfilled demand for this product.

You'd think that for display guns at the largest industry show of the year, they'd hand pick good guns. I was hoping they were over the "teething pains" but if they are still selling junk guns, I supposed it doesn't matter if they are blued or stainless, I'm not paying good money for poor quality products, regardless. :cuss:

I really like my Rossi M92 in 357 Mag. It's Stainless steel and under $450. It is pretty smooth, wood lines up nicely on the stock. I got tired of waiting for an 1894c, no regrets.
