My name is Jim and I live in Sacramento, CA. I am 37 years old, married and have a baby boy. For work, I am a Land Surveyor. My interests at the moment revolve around Bullseye and Silhouette shooting. All my guns were stolen 4 years ago but I have rebuilt a collection that focuses on fun stuff. I am a 17 year Life Member of the NRA. My son has been a Life Member since he was two weeks old. I am involved with a local Bullseye club that goes back to the 1930's. I love talking guns, shooting, and reloading.

Hello everyone,

Just found THR a bit ago, decided to join after a few minutes of reading some
of the posts!:)

A bit on myself.... just turned 40 :eek: in November. Missed my first opening
day of Deer Season (firearm) since I was 15, but spent it with my
wife on a cruise. We were a bit :scrutiny: dissapointed with the cruise and
missing opener :cuss: . Got back and hit the woods, a nice buck is now in
the freezer, my better half didn't get one but she has a 9 pt. on the wall
she took with her .357 six-shooter :D :D .

Consider myself a projectilest, like about anything that throws something
down range. My smallest, .17 HMR's up to a .45-120.
A pistol hunter at heart, for small game and deer. Although I love long guns.

Have a son, 17 who is 4 for 4 during deer season! Had him shooting at age
6 and he's never looked back. :D

Enjoy reloading, building custom fishing rods,flytying, working on guns...
Next project, redoing my 7mm Mag. In all :scrutiny: my spare time. I swear
next year I'll do one for me :D

Hello from Sin City

Hi everybody! Name is Jeff and I live in Vegas. Right now I have a Moss 500 (18" barrel with a pistol grip) for home defense and an SKS for the range. Las Vegas is going to be home to the country's largest gun range here in about a year. Late 07 the park will be open. It will house pistol,rifle and archery ranges as well as skeet and one other thing I can't remember....... The best thing about it is that I will live about 1/2 from it when it opens!!!! I am sure it will be my home away from home!!!

I am a former Jarhead. I served in DS1 and got out in 92. I was with B Co 1/4 for most of my tour.
I just applied for my FFL 03 so hopefully I will get that soon so I can get some more C&R toys!!!

i live in iowa.i love to fish,hunt and shoot with my bubs.i'm do reload all my ammo,and cast all my bullets this way i know just what my guns will do.i like the big bore's in rifles,shotguns,and handguns.

Been Reading & Joined the Group

After 30yrs of long nights, missed weekends, missed holidays and missed lifetime events ........... I'm done! ---------- Retired & Pushing 50.
Joined a Bass Club; finished 11 out of 56 this year!
Now after some years away from guns, I'm back.
Had 40 guns PM. PM = prior marriage.:) Household & Family priorities took
many.:( I'm back to buying. I just bought my 1st handgun in about 10yrs.:)

Handguns are my biggest interest as I carried one for several years.
I come from the generation when men carried 38Spc, 357Mag, 45acp on duty.
The 9mm was just catching on in the US. Clint was carrying his 44Mag and
the 44Spc was Special. And last, when a 40caliber was a 38-40.
I'm out of touch on some of this new stuff!

Love to read about WW2 (European Theatre). And the guns that were used there. BAR's, MG42's etc......

I reckon, I'll fit in?
 
Hello all, I'm Dan Dahl. (Whoa, that rhymes...!) I'm 18, and I live in Tooele, Utah (near Salt Lake City). I just graduated from High School this past spring.

Wes Dahl, (thefumegator) is my older brother. My entire gun collection amounts to one Remington 870 12 ga. shotgun. Impressive, I know. I'm hoping to do a little expanding eventually, but that's it for the time being. I look forward to meeting everybody and maybe learning some new things.
 
I'm not a new member here, but it's been so long since I've logged in that I had forgotten my password. The system didn't recognize my email address so I went through the entire registration process again.

I live in the San Joaquin Valley in California (we're the GOOD Californians and not the Kalifornians). I have a baker's dozen handguns and three long guns and I am strictly a sport, target shooter.

I am an NRA instructor and also a HSC instructor. I am working on becoming a CCW instructor and eventually a gun dealer.

well, just cruising and found this place. looks like a great place to get info. Alittle background on me, retired navy (20 yrs) Gunnersmate, from da upper peninsula of Mich, and came back home to it. was a small arms instructor in the service, so no new comer to the world of weapons. Got myself alittle romanian .22, 8mm turk mauser, .308 rem, 45/70 gov lever (my mobile artillery), and a .300 savage, and a couple of scatter guns. Plus I reload most my ammo. really into the ballistics of it, and custom loads. got a few hot ones that are impressive for the 45/70. So just wanted to say hi to everyone. But looking for some info also, I live pretty much in the darker rescesses of michigan from real civilization and am trying to find some parts for my 8mm mauser. I procured it already sporterized, but want to bring it back to it's full glory of iron sights. So I need front and rear. andyone got a website i cruise for these parts??? anyhelp appreciated. merry x-mass all.

Hello all

I am a new member and joined to get educated on hand guns. I am a duck and deer hunter from up in the north country of Minnesota. I am fairly familiar with shotguns and riffles but have very little knowlege of handguns. I plan on taking the conceal and cary class for Minnesota and would like to purchase a handgun. I am looking for a good handgun to use for Conceal and cary that will also make for a decent handgun in the feild for hunting. I don't know if there is such a gun that would serve both purposes well but would love to here some idea's from those who know.
