Howdy all !! I like long, short, and scatter guns. Reloading and casting bullets is a must to shoot more and to have more variety to play with. I like big caliber stuff (500 cal) on down to 5 mm. Making some noise, like the crack of a gun, helps with stress. Catch you all later on a thread.

Hi there. I just posted in one of the threads, and it was my first post, so I must have been lurking for a while! This is a great site, and I just retired, so I can spend some pleasant time here. I have many firearms after years of collecting, and shoot as often as I can. I live in Central California (Madera), and hope to contribute to the discussions in a positive way. John

New to the site. I live in Toronto, mostly into handguns. I have a S&W 52-2 which is great and a STI Trojan in .45 Cal. I have others, but these are my favorite.

Hi, been lurking a bit lately about hunting rifles. Looking to buy a Tikka T3 Lite 30-06 and maybe a .45 later. I own an older Model 336 Marlin 30-30 lever action, an older Mossberg 500a 12 gauge and a Model 19 S&W 6" inch .357. I live in Nor Cal and hunted wild boar w/my 30-30 years ago and mounted a nice boar. I want to start hunting again for boar w/my new 30-06 and go to the range a lot and have fun. Also want to start hunting for deer and turkey. I like watching hunting shows and I like fishing. This looks like a good forum to learn and share ideas !!

Hey there. I'm new to this site and just interested in guns in general. I've been a shooter all my life and have fun doing it. I'm also a big advocate of "right to bear arms". My first gun was a single shot .410 hammer cock shotgun. I went from that to a 20 gauge Mossberg bolt action with a poly-choke. And on and on and on!

Correction. My first gun was actually a Crossman CO2 pellet rifle. It was very powerful and very accurate.

Hi Folks,

Over the past few years, it seems a lot of the internet searches that I have executed regarding firearms have led to THR for an answer. The most recent was regarding a portable survival rifle of which I decided on a Marlin PSS based largely on information I read on this site. I own several firearms already, and I can appreciate the quality of information to be found here. So, I thought that now would be just as good a time as any to jump in and join the fray.

I am looking forward to getting to know the good members here.

See you around the forums,

pete

Greetings everyone,

I've been a gun owner since I was 13. I'm now 62 so you do the math. I live in rural Kentucky and am a retired Louisville fireman (22 years on the job). From 1986 till 1996 me and a partner owned a small rocket motor company. Our propellant was nearly identical to what is used in the solid rocket boosters on the Shuttle. We ended the business when my partner took a job that required him to work out of state a lot and I couldn't do it by myself. I wored on the HazMat team on the fire department for a year.

My wife of 32 years and I have 5 grown children, all of which shoot. My oldest is my 42 year old daughter who has won several hand-gun trophies. I've never seen anyone with a steadier hand.

My other hobby is HAM radio. I've been a HAM since 1986. I mostly work Morse Code.

My current love is exploding targets. I have my own formula and am considering going into business with it. I'm just more than a little concerned with the "crazies" out there who use exploding targets for the wrong thing.

Know your rights.

Greetings all. Joined up to learn more about long guns and shotguns. Mostly for recreational shooting and home defense. Presently researching the applicability of cosmoline as sunblock. Just kidding, but in San Diego? Hey you never know.

New member

Hi, my name is Dave and I'm from NJ. I've been shooting guns since I was 12 or 13. My father bought me a 20 gauge pump shotgun shortly before I attended firearms safety training and hunter education courses. I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson SD9 and a Ruger Mark III 22/45. I also took an NRA Basic Steps pistol course and plan on applying for a Florida non-resident CCW permit. I'm a life member of the NRA and the NAHC. I've had the pleasure of shooting a S&W 500 revolver and a Saiga 12 shotgun with 20 round drum.

Hi! I'm new here!

Hi, Ally (or Allyson) here checking in. I'm a novice shooter and just bought my first pistol, a Glock 26 9mm. My main areas of interest are in CCW and defensive training. I'm fortunate to live in an area that offers a large number of defensive shooting classes, and also a large and active IDPA group.

Being in NC, I'm also very happy about the bill that was passed yesterday, removing some important carry restrictions. :)

I'm just now realizing how expensive shooting sports are. Ammo. :cuss:

Hi all..

Just wanted to drop in and say hello.

I'm a life long firearm owner and CA resident, and wow do those things work at odds with each other..

Howdy all, I'm obviously new here but I really like what I have seen of this website so far. Active duty Army, was combat arms but switched over to being a POG for the family. Currently stationed at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McChord). What brought me to the site was the emphasis on family values while still being informative on guns, member of alot of other forums and just was not impressed with the lack of class thats out there. Looking forward to learning and sharing.

and just say hello to everybody here. I'm a recently retired old fart and enjoy the shooting sports, mostly clay shooting. Collect shotguns! I do enjoy my handguns too.

Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to hang out... :)
