Old new member intro

I have been a member since 2011. Never did introduce myself to this forum. Oversight on my part. New to forums really. So I'm in the us army stationed in Washington state. Been on active duty for 16 years. I love to shoot everything. Mostly handguns. Got several of them but also a couple long guns and one shot gun. Not sure why I have a scatter gun but its just in the safe hanging out. I reload for my hand guns and enjoy the reloading thread in this forum. I have a habit of collecting range brass and hoarding it. My stocks a dwindled significantly due to just moving to Washington from Texas. I recently started a membership at a new indoor range and they are brass hogs. Only allowing me to take what I shoot, but I do sneak out with what other shooters allow me to have. After my stock pile is full again I do share the wealth so when I have extra (if there is such a thing) I will post trade offers or send it to friends on the forum. So in closing I enjoy this forum because 99% of the posts/responses I read are professional, courteous and helpful. I look forward to logging in to THR every night. Hope to interact with you in the future.
Safe shooting to you and yours
Happy holidays to you and yours

and a universal 30 mi cal. that i call mr. jamsalot

I don;t know your carbines condition but a common problem with the Universal is the recoil spring. They are to stiff for the design specks.Try a weaker spring and see if that don't keep the bolt from flying back too fast.Yours is not the only one I have heard of with that problem. Enjoy your time here.

Greetings!

Newbie here. been scanning the internet for info on buying a Mosin Nagant. This site turned up and decided to join because it will probably bring up loads of information like other forums.

Trying to act quickly because from what I've been seeing, the prices are going up and the stockpiles are drying up.

I live in Illinois, about 20 minute drive from St. Louis, MO. Any leads as to where I can find one, I am all ears. already been to a few shops and they are out and don't know when they will be getting more.

looking mainly for a pre WW2 hex receivered M91 or 91/30. but open to whats in stock.
been to Cabelas but they won't let you check out the merchandise except for the one "display model" they want $600 for.

Thanks!

Mosin nagant

Try Century International Arms, google it and they have some great guns and prices.

Hello all! I am a resident of the People's Republic of Maryland, and have been a firearms enthusiast since I picked up a cap gun when I was 7 :D. I have pretty much been lurking around here trying to learn as much as possible as I save up to buy a handgun. Was thinking about a S&W model 65 if I can find one, but might just get a Ruger P95 (or any other suggestion I'm given) due to the gun rationing and other current events political stuff not fit for the forum.

Hi All:
I am a new member from So. West Fl. I collect Savage Rifles, mostly older 99`s, but I also like the older Sporters, I am retired so I have the time to restore the older beat up guns. I do my own rust bluing & stock work & love to see a 100 year old plus rifle looking brand new. I also have a soft spot for the Marlin 39`s .
I am happy to have found this forum.:)

Attn Sig owners: I was attracted to this site when I noticed someone commenting that Sig has very little problems. I agree, (I really like my P238) however, I have a P2022 in .40 cal that has constant FTF's. They took it back right away, it was "Repaired" & I received in less than 2 weeks, BUT it still does the exact same thing. In fact, after the very FIRST shot, the 2nd round fed only half way up the ramp (Just like it did before they "worked on it"). Now, they are ignoring my requests for proper repair or replacement. I have contacted them THREE times, & they are not responding. It's a shame, because I had my sights on a Sig 1911 Scorpion next, but I think it would be wise to stay away from Sigs. Warranties mean NOTHING, if they don't back it up. :barf:

Gixxer1k Try Century International Arms, google it and they have some great guns and prices.

unfortunately they require a dealer to login to check themout. I do not have a C&R license(yet). for now I have to work with the local places that are currently out of stock.

Hi, I live in Massachusetts, ex military, retired law enforcement and a avid gun enthusiast. I own a Remington r1 1911,s&w m&p sport 5.56 and a few hunting shotguns. I'm ready for my next pistol.......not sure , thinking beretta 92fs.

Hi, new guy here, I'm mostly a lurking type though, and not exactly knowledgeable in firearms anyway. :)

Hi!

Well Lets see..I'm 25 and I bought my first gun last year..Mossberg deer and field combo. In the last few months I have bought a Taurus Raging Judge Magnum, a Taurus PT92 a Ruger 10/22 bull-pup and......A Springfield armory SAR-8...Which is the gun that brought me here to this site.

Since I bought my first gun I have loved shooting...I buy my ammo in bulk boys!;) LOL...But after I bought the SAR-8 I dug a little deeper and found out that mine is one with the aluminum receiver. I was not happy I'm not a gun expert (Yet) But everything I am reading is telling me I made a mistake.

Hoping someone on here can tell me how to switch the receiver out for a steel one...

The real battle is for our children. Our educational system is designed to indoctrinate values, not teach facts. Values should be left for families to decide and instill. Until we return to that as a nation, nothing we do will have any long term effect. Best education on indoctrination is "Who Controls the Children" by Peg Luksik.

I am a new member, just joined today. I like anything that goes bang, reload for all my center fire rifles and handguns, and have done so for years. My current favorite shooting is with 45-70 single shot rifles, and 1911 pistols. About 12 years ago, I took a gunsmith machine shop night class for two semesters at a junior college and built a 30-06 on a Win. Model 70 action with a Douglas Premium air gage barrel that wound up at 25.5 inches with a target crown. Put it in a McMillan synthetic stock with a 3.5x10 Leupold scope. To my astonishment, my first group using Hornady Light Magnum 180 Gr. ammo, it grouped 3/4 " at a measured 100 yd, and the chronograph read just over 2940 fps. May have been due to the 1 in 10 twist on the accuracy, and 25.5 on the barrel length. I used to hunt white tails in East Texas, but somehow I got over being mad at them, and now generally hunt hogs, still somewhat pissed at them.
My longest shot on a hog was 285 yd with a 25-06, and the closest was 26 feet with a 45-70.

New member, unsure how to start thread.

I wanted to start a new thread I recently decided a 9mm wasnt enough and traded the g19 for the g21. I am sincerely interested in a 10mm conversion and wanted a post to get advice from yins. could someone please tell me how to starta new thread or recommend a good one for me?

Please and thank you!

sorry

Pardon me this is an introduction only page i apologize. My name is Matt I'm from Western PA. I mostly hunt tree rat and am just a huge fine of fire arms. I'm in love with GLOCKs and dont think their ugly at all :neener: LOL. I own two shotguns 20,12. two 22Lr pistol and revolver. My prized possesion is the 12 guage winchester and my G21. As I stated in my earlier post I'm interested in a 10mm conversion. Thats my two cents
