I've been lurking for several weeks, but decided I should go ahead and join the fun. I just purchased my first gun and have been soaking up information like a sponge. It took me a long time to pick a weapon, because I wanted something that was small enough to easily conceal, accurate, reliable and comfortable enough to take to the range. I also needed something affordable, since I am paying for classes and CCW licenses for my wife and I. In the end, I chose a Bersa Thunder .380 Concealed Carry as my first gun and a Galco Pocket Protector as my first holster.

At this point, I'm still soaking up info, getting ready for my first class (I've shot before, but my wife hasn't), and starting on the paperwork for the permit. Its just as well that it takes a couple months to get licensed, because I will not carry a gun until I can use it accurately on a consistent basis (practice, practice, practice!).

Anyway, I wanted to say "Hi" and identify myself. I look forward to "talking" to all of you over the coming months about my new hobby.

Welcome to The High Road!

some people may knock the .380 as a "mouse gun", but the first rule of a gun fight is "have a gun". The second rule is to be able to hit the target soGET THEE TO A RANGE AND PRACTICE!:D

Welcome!!

some people may knock the .380 as a "mouse gun",

They probably haven't been hit by one!! A .380 will get the the job done. The Most important thing is to Practice. A .380 that you can shoot well, is a better weapon that a .45 that you can't shoot well with.

ahhhh.... the bersa, a decent little all around pistol, ambidextrious, smooth corners, only reason I gave mine up, is extra mags were 50 bucks.

Hey

Hey. I am also new. I've been lurking off and on for 2 yrs. Some here may recognize me from other sites. Anyways, greetings to all.
