It's a fair price (on the high end), but not a deal. If you really want one, go for it. But IMO, it's too high to qualify for "don't pass it up".
My worked 6" 686 no dash that I got for $300 was one that I couldn't walk away from, but had that gun been $600 (Equivalent to the Ruger being priced at $450, and would have been worth it, albeit on the high side), it would have waited for another buyer. I paid $300 for my nearly mint Security 4" stainless, wouldn't have gone a penny higher (in 2000).
