I'm looking to get a night vision scope for home defense. I would like to spend no more than $2,000. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
dedicated night vision or are you going to want to mount it in conjunction with something like an EO Tech or Aimpoint?
Here is what I have as an example:
-Armasight NYX14 Gen2 (enhanced image version) with manual gain control. I personally prefer having manual gain vs an auto adjusting unit. I just find that the auto adjusting units are not as consistant. Just my experience. I use this unit in conjunction with my Aimpoint T-1 Micro. It's a nightvision minocular that I can either mount to the weapon with a weapons mount or I can use it as a head mounted unit. I can also throw a magnifier on it if I need to. I like the fact that it's a mulit purpose unit.
-Armasight CO-MR Gen2 (enhanced image version) with manual gain control. I use this on my magnified stuff for what I call medium range work. I use it on my Vortex Razor 5-20 (good up to 12x) and on my 1-6 swaro, as well as my NF 5.5-22 on a Sako TRG. I like the unit and it meets my needs. Came with a decent clip on illuminator as well as a wireless remote. This unit is really just a converter and used on magnified optics.
Anyway hope this helps.
I need to learn to read gooder.
Good suggestion.
What do you mean I 'muzzle everything' I look at?
Brand new Pvs14 mx11769 autogated tube .. Minimum 64LpI 26 SN. $2150.00 !!!!!

PVS14/6015 sytems GRADE B start at $2000.00
A brass bead sight on the end of a shotgun barrel is pretty hard to beat if you ask me. If you can find your way from the bed room to the kitchen to get a drink in the dark you would be better off spending your $2000 on something that tells you when someone enters your house than NVD's.jmorris, what would you suggest?
