what's on your belt?

Penns Woods frontier alternative for you: a small lightweight hatchet {tomahawk}.

More versatile than a knife. Somewhat greater reach too. Quickly deployable with the right sheath.

Check with the laws before doing any chopping of trees though.

This is a goofy thread.. it leaves me wondering if you were attacked what the dog will do?

My dog would back up to me set a stance and look pretty fierce, waiting for his dinner. At that point if I was thinking like you I would undo the snap on the dog chain lease, and use that as the weapon. You can learn the in's and outs of a light chain whip with out me.

In a selfdefence mode to me a knife is just too close...

Since this is THR road I can't say exactly what I'ld like to say, but search google for NAA and see if that can somehow work... It does fer me! :D

My dog weighs 30 lbs, but I am sure he would make a lot of noise.

Luckily our state government is changing their stupid policy.

Thanks for those who provided constructive feedback.

A medium sized fixed blade knife should be acceptable. Many peasants over the centuries would say that a knife is an acceptable self defense weapon. And pretty darn handy in the woods.
