Hey I know I might get some flak for this, but better safe then sorry.

My other ARs came pre-worn so I never bother checking for dings and bumps pretty much ever.

I noticed on my factory built AR the other day that the "selector stop" had a tiny chip in it with only maybe 2-3 dozen flips of the selector to safe, just trying it out. It can be assumed this is from the selector switch hitting the stop when flicked to safe, making a tiny ding in it. Do your AR have the same thing?
Not really concerned that "oh no, I have a scratch" just wanted to make sure my selector isn't over-travelling or something.

Yeah never did catch that SOB that stole it :cuss:. Yeah I figured as much. I know I was being paranoid, just wanted to make sure because it developed in just about 2-3 dozen flips of the safety lever. Wear doesn't bother me, just wanted to make sure my selector detent hole wasn't oversized or something. This is my first time handleing virgin AR parts.

So sounds like normal wear then. While we are on the topic, can anyone recommend a good ambi selector as I'm a southpaw

I knew a guy who was really upset because there were marks on the brass deflector.

There used to be threads about putting velcro or E tape on the deflector. Was some pretty sad days in gun land. One of the reasons I'm predjudiced against taking advice from older shooters.

Throw it down the driveway. Chipped up Krylon looks best anyways.
