About 4 weeks ago I bought a .380 Guardian. I fired 250 rounds through it and it was flawless with FMJ. After this break in I tried Federal Hydra-Shok. Every 15-20 rounds I would get a FTF. With the POS Seecamp I had I would of been happy to go 15 rounds in a row of ANY ammo. I called NAA and they said "send it back with a note". They covered shipping BOTH ways and had it back at my door in 7 days. 150 rounds today and it is FLAWLESS. After trying for months to deal with Seecamp it is refreshing to find a company that really is 'customer friendly'. Thanks North American Arms.

Excellent thats what we like to hear.

So how do you like the weight and thickness compared to the Seecamp?

Great to hear about a good company!

I have always liked there stuff. However, I don't think I can buy their stuff in this cess-pool (maryland).

Counting the days...........

My NAA .380 was a bit problematic for the first 100 rounds of hollowpoints after running 200 WWB 'green' ammo through it with no glitches. I polished the feed ramp and chamber and I haven't had a problem in over 700 rounds of HP. Mine also never stovepipes on the last round.

Their customer service is pretty good and I've been looking sort of for a Black Widow or a mini master for a while now. I have only shot and owned the standard models though. A 17 cal NAA might be interesting too and I wish they would make one in 25acp.

very good customer service indeed.

i broke my trigger return spring from dry-firing (i did use a snap cap as stated in the manual) and called naa about it. they asked for my address and in three days, they sent me two new springs.

forgot to mention that i am talking about the guardian .380.

sorry to digress, but when i first got my .380 guardian, it would choke on every 3-4 rounds. fte's was the norm. i was really dissapointed because i had paid nearly $500 for the gun and i wanted to like it. it seemed really well built, and you gotta love the all-steel construction. after about 200 rounds, it started to run perfectly, except for the stovepiping on the last round. i have yet to try any hp's but i will one of these days, but i doubt that i will keep them stoked with hp's anyways. really hot fmj's are what i would prefer in the .380. and these guardians run the best when cleaned thoroughly. also, why is it that some peoples' guardians stovepipe on the last round and some don't?

why is it that some peoples' guardians stovepipe on the last round and some don't?

I have read that Guardians are supposed to stovepipe the last round, being that it has no ejector and uses the next round in the mag as the ejector. So when it runs out, no ejector...stovepipe. Anyways, that's what I remember reading. Sounded weird to me too.

Mr. Quinlan, Seecamp just started a forum where Larry Seecamp frequently visits and answers questions. He's actually very good at responding. Anyway, you may want to ask him there if maybe he could help you. Just remember that honey catches more flies than vinegar (or whatever the original quote is). Here is the link

There's even a category entitled, "Ask Larry Seecamp". If you don't come off as a troll, I bet he helps you. At least give it a try.

Hi Boots,

My Guardian will stovepipe on the last round, as it should because the pistol does not use a ejector, but only every 5-6 mags. At this point when you insert a new mag the empty case falls out. Great gun.

So does anyone have one of the .32 NAA versions? I got to examine one of NAA's custom shop models and was intrigued (1200 fps?) ... am wondering what they're like to shoot ...

What did they do to the gun to fix the problem?

Hi Darth,

They replaced the slide and polished the feed ramp and chamber. I know it is a new slide because some moron, me, scratched the old one, but I am SURE I am the only one who has done something stupid:banghead:

I've got a guardian in 32 NAA. Snappy recoil. Feeds reliably. No problems with mine. I don't like to shoot more than a couple dozen rounds at a range session, because the shape of the rear strap hurts the web of my hand. In a high adrenalin situation, it won't matter, however.

Hi Macavada,

Have tou tried a PAST shooting glove? I can shoot 75-100 rounds at a session with the glove.Without it it can 'sting' a bit.:)

Kevin,

I'm looking for folks critical of our product or service to post at our forum discussion site to liven things up.

Please feel free to post there.

Kevin:

I'm really not all that interested in shooting 100 rounds with the Guardian. If I can practice with it every once in a while to be sure I can keep it on paper within 7-10 yards, that's cool enough with me.

However, I've had strange dreams at night where I've had to pull it or my Kahr K9 in a defensive situation, and it seems like I'm never going to get to the end of that double action pull. Can you tell me what that means?

So Mr. Quinlan... Are you gonna take my original suggestion or not? Just curious...However, I am guessing that if you do post in the "Ask Larry Seecamp" section of the forum, he will respond and so long as your problems with your Seecamp are factory defects, they will soon be fixed. Doesn't hurt to try.

Hi Larry,

Wish I could have loved the pistol. This was 8-9 years ago, before Kel-Tec and the Guardian, when you had a 2 year waiting list. I paid $700.00 for your .32 and was happy as a clam. Took it to the range and it was the worse shooting gun I have ever owned. It would NEVER fire a full mag without a problem. Don't remember if you had a web site then but you DID have a phone. This phone WAS NEVER ANSWERED BY A LIVE PERSON, just a answering machine, remember? 5-6 or 7 messages were left and YOU NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. At this point I did send 2 letters. They also went unanswered. I sold the gun in disgust. I now have a Guardian and couldn't be happier. I was in the car business for 25 years so I know ANY machine can have a problem. A good company will fix the problem. A not so good company will ignore you and hope you go away. Sadly my experience with your company was the latter.

Greeting's All-

Well folk's, I've got a Seecamp LWS-32 s/n 045XXX, and it has
functioned flawlessly. I purchased this firearm NIB in March 2005,
and use it as my everyday BUG~!:uhoh:

FWIW, Seecamp's are very hard to find in my area; as I had
searched far and wide for one of these fine little firearms. So, when
my dealer (who is my employer) got one in; I jumped on the Seecamp
bandwagon. And, glad I did~!:D

Keep up the good work, Larry.

Hi Ala,

Glad you are happy with your purchase. I did not mean to imply that Seecamp made junk pistols.IF you get one that works they can be very good guns. My experience was with the attitude of "once we sell it it becomes 'YOUR' problem not ours". To be honest if I could find one I could shoot for 75-100 rounds BEFORE I bought it I probably would get another. But I definitely would not take the chance of getting stuck again.
They may have changed, or started, a service department. With Kel-Tec and the Guardian it has cut the hell out of their sales.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I'm sure whatever experiences you had at that time are described accurately and I owe you an apology.

The only thing that disturbs me, and I by no means intend to imply that you did this in any of your posts, is for folks to infer that whatever poor customer service we had eight or ten years ago was the result of a customer be damned attitude. There were some tough times in the past over which we had little control.

The company was started grossly underfinanced. This always presents a problem. Because the office is understaffed some calls go neglected, and so it goes for everything else. I would have been pissed if I were a customer during some of those days.

This doesn't start out as the intent, but it ends up as the unfortunate consequence.

I was frankly happy for the advent NAA and Kel Tec as they relieved a lot of that pressure.

Hopefully, we're now doing things right.

Please accept my apologies for any affront or disservice we've done in the past.

Regards,
Larry
