I am soon moving to NC. What is the humidity like there? Should I make special arrangements for my firearms in the house?

I currently have them at my mothers, in a Homak cabinet with a golden rod (sure hope it is still working after 4 years).

Tne golden rod should suffice. The humidity can be outrageous. imagine getting out of the shower and sewating all over again.
before storing the guns, give them a light coat of oil. Your sewat will get them rusting with a quickness. Try not to store them in cases. Let the air circulate around them.

Depends somewhat on where you are. It' awful on the Coastal Plain in July & August, not so bad in the Piedmont & Mountains. +1 on the Golden Rod.

Hehehehe.....shower...walk out to the car....sweat.....:fire:

Humidity?

I live in the Piedmont, in Greensboro. The humidity here is fine. The humidity in the Pines and the Coastal Plains areas is pretty bad. North Carolina has mountains, pine barrens, swamps, forests, and beach. The only thing we don't have is a desert! A little more information on where you are moving will help us answer your question better.

Welcome to North Carolina.
