Hi came across this picture today and was wondering what it was? Custom high power? Weird Korean look alike design? I've seen extended barrels on Desert Eagles and maybe some others, but not this. Would the highpower mechanism even support something like this?

But it looks cool and I want one if it's real.

Also the other pictures in the series are fascinating too.

I dunno but that lady looks like she would cut you seven ways from Sunday then feast on your soul before she even thought about shooting you. :what:

She might be fine lady but..........

I don't know either.
But the photo caption says:

On top of an active force of over one million, North Korea's military has a reserve force of over 8 million men and women.

Now, that is not a reserve military weapon.
Looks more like a movie prop for a bad Ninja movie.

The engraving on it alone cost more then the annual GNP of North Korea!

I didn't realy get the caption either. I guess it was the only picture of a gun they could get.

It looks somewhat like a Browning HP with an extended barrel, but with the North Koreans you can never be sure. They will fake anything they can, they even have a complete fake village they allow Westerners to visit . The village is clean, with stores and well fed happy people walking the streets and in the shops. but! every thing is fake, no one lives in the village and the people are all actors. They had a military parade a while back that showed row after row of new mid range rockets ( scud type ), come to find out , once the clandestine pictures were developed, the rockets were cardboard. All radios made or sold in North Korea have only one channel, the state channel. That is why they are so frightening, If you can call an entire country insane, they are " it ".

I suspect it is an air gun, not a "real" pistol. Out of context, I have no idea whether it is a posed picture for a movie, or some kind of propaganda, but I doubt very much it is a picture of a North Korean woman headed for a fun day at the range. They do have those, but as part of military training with the issue AK.

The pic might be mirrored and that's why we don't see the ejection port. Publications sometimes do that for aesthetic reasons.

For "side by side" comparrison.
