Northeast bullet options? help me choose

I found this site for cast bullet.

They have 38 (158 gr) SWC dia 0.358 $37 for 1000 counts. But they have a couple of options. Please help me choose one. I load 38spc and .357mag.

Should I go with hard cast or soft cast?

What about bullet lubricant options? 1 or 2 or 3?

Btw, I am using Lee Pro 1000 reloading kit.

It depends on your application as to what might suit your needs best. I have heard the moly coated bullets are messy. I just about always shoot hard cast lead and have not had any problems with them even at lower velocities. The softer lead might lead up the barrel if you load them up too high a velocity.

I am currently using Northeast Bullet Co. soft-cast bullets in .38 special and .357 magnum loads. Great price! I like them a lot. I chose the "no moly" option. I did opt for the groove lube, however.

In my opinion these bullets shoot very well with absolutely NO leading up to about 800 fps. in my guns. I fire them through a 2" snubnose .38 Rossi and a 4" .357 magnum Taurus Model 65 (same as model 66, except blued). I'm not experienced enough to know for sure how accurate they are, but with the snubbie I can keep 4" single action groups at 10 yards, and I can hit the 50-yard gong. With the Taurus I can stay on an 8-inch styrofoam plate at 25 yards, and ring the 75-yard gong with my medium magnum load.

I loaded up a few hot .357 magnum rounds with these soft bullets, and they did lead the barrel, but not nearly as much as my last batch from the local gun store. I will order more soft-cast bullets from Northeast Bullet Co. for my .38 special loads and light .357 magnum loads. For hot .357 magnums I might try some of N.E. Bullet's hard-cast bullets with moly coating and groove lube. I load by hand, so I don't have to worry about the machinery getting gummed up.
