I have just acquired a Remington 700 Sendero 7mm Rem Mag with a 26" barrel. I'm wanting to load Nosler 140 gr Accubonds in it with a goal of 3100 fps or more. was thinking of trying IMR 7828 SSC powder. Do any of you have a "pet" load for the 140 gr Accubond in 7 mag? I would love to see some of your velocities also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why are you seeming to fixate on a number namely 3100 fps. If you find an accurate load that is slightly below 3100 fps don't dismiss it just because it doesn't hit an arbitrary number.

Sorry I can't help on powder choice. My shooting buddy used to mostly use Win Supreme 780 but it's now out of production.

I did look at my old notes today ... and IMR 7828 will do 3150+ fps out of a 24" M700 7 mm RM, that was over a chrono .... however it was at a charge that is slightly over what the books list now days ... that load was safe in that particular rifle ...

I show Retumbo giving a little more velocity(chrono) ... but the grains are not legible due to some oil on the ink ... so I can't say nor would I how close to book it was ...that load was also safe in that rifle ...

There are several powders that should work very well and give you the desired velocity you are seeking ... RL 26 is listed as giving even more ... H1000 should ...

BUT all this really does not matter .... what does is what will your rifle do safely ... no two guns are the same ... I've seen two identical M 700 just a few numbers apart in serial number .... one was what is considered a fast rifle and the other was somewhat slow compared to the other one ....

You said you had manuals ... I suggest starting with a load and work up ... until you get the velocity you want or you run into pressure signs .... without a chrono anything you do is just going to be a guess ...

I no longer load for 7 mm RM ...
