My new TRP should be here on monday, I want to put a "combat" style adjustable sight in it with triduim inserts. At the moment I am considering Bo-Mars Combat and Novak adjustables. Both would require machining, the Novaks less than the Bo-Mars, anybody have experiance with either? insite, thoughts, comments?

Hi. I don't have a lot of experience with the sights you mention (actually none at all with the adjustable Novaks), but I thought I'd mention a similar product I once considered using on one of my pistols, which I've been told by a couple of big name pistolsmiths is a good unit. It is the Caspian Tactical Adjustable rear sight. Caspian's website says this sight requires no modification to your standard Novak rear sight cut. BTW, Les Baer also sells this same sight, and even seems to offer it with tritium inserts. It's another option to consider, and maybe your best option, given that you won't have to modify your existing sight cut, or refinish your slide. Note also that this one is adjustable via the screws, for both elevation and windage, while the Novak unit must be drifted in the dovetail cut for windage adjustment.

mjs 408,

I had the Novak Exteme Duty Adjustable Tritiums installed on my Champion the last trip to Springfield and I just love them. I could not get a fixed set that would shoot exactly to point of aim, but that all changed with the Novak installation. I would highly recommend them.

Novak's "Extreme Duty" adjustable rear sight with the tritium inserts was installed in my Delta Elite by Vic Tibbets.

I really like this unit. It's carries more like a fixed sight, but gives you the ability to dial-in your carry load of choice - especially if you have more than one.

Here's two links (with pics) that discuss the XD unit a bit:

Hope this helps.
