NRA is Sending Bumperstickers

HI Everyone,

I am an Endowment NRA member, fairly committed if you know what I mean, and I have to admit I don't open most of the mail they send me. But I felt it was worth telling you guys that I by chance opened one and it had a bumper sticker in it for the pro gun candidate for florida governor in it.

So if you are in a state with a race that the pro gun candidate could be beat, you might want to open your NRA mail this week. Even if not it's good to show the politicians that we are watching. -ph@ga

Ha ha! Yeah, I got one for a race that's not even in my state. The letter was about a race that was in my state but the bumper sticker was for a race in another state.
 
It'd be cool to live in a state where a pro-2A candidate was running for governor. I'm not the bumper sticker type though.
 
Well I'm not either lol. Notice it's on the window that is easy to scrape off. It won't kill you for a few weeks. We printed 50k bumper stickers that said "guns are an individual right" for NRA show two years ago and I never even put one on my own car. This is an important election year to inspire people to go actually vote and for those of us who are close to one issue voters (2nd amendment rights) it might get some folks out there. -ph@ga

Yep it sure is! In Alabama,both candidates have A+ ratings from the NRA every election. NRA always endorses the incumbent when both candidates are equally pro-2nd amendment. Likely I won't be getting a bumper sticker.
 
Maybe I'm paranoid, but I just don't like putting "Gun on Board!" stickers on my car.
 
I view the NRA as a tool.

I don't always agree with them, and I often disagree with them. I ripped up the election bumper stickers they sent me.

But at the end of the day, their existence is still a good thing. So I support them, at least for now.

Don't be a myopic political pawn; make an informed decision.
 
Sorry, I just can't vote for the NRA's favored candidate in Texas. I'm all for supporting pro-gun candidates, but Perry's opponent would make a much better governor.

If I put one on are you going to scrape it off the rear windshield and not leave any glue residue?

Glue residue is extremely EASY to get off of glass. Use a good glass cleaner containing ammonia or just plain alcohol. A razorblade helps greatly.
 
Gang - keep the politics out of this thread or it will get shut down. The thread is ostensibly about the NRA and their use of bumper stickers, and that's IT.

Also, yes, sticker glue residue is extremely easy to get off the windshield, provided you do it correctly. It bothers me when I see people with a dozen, faded, old parking (or other) stickers on their rear window because they don't know how to take it off. They could at least ask someone or maybe use this amazing thing we have now called the internet. But hey, it's not my car.

Yea this wasn't to start an NRA discussion lol. I am glad it has gotten so many reads though. That whole "gun on board" thing with bumper stickers is indeed a problem, especially parking the car in front of your house. It's only a few weeks though. I promise you that no matter where you live, it probably isn't as bad as south florida for predatory crime. Unemployment is really bad here and the young people have nothing better to do than drive around and look for easy targets. I have a gun in my pocket at all times, even in the house.

And yes, bumper stickers come off of glass pretty easy. Even if it leaves glue a razor blade takes it off, or you can just wet a paper towel with gas or lantern oil (or actually buy goo gone lol) and it comes right off.
 
I beleive bumper stickers are just a way for people to tell others (who don't care) what their opinion is. It is doubtful that anyone has been spurred to action, or changed their opinoin based on a sticker on a car.
 
In general I agree with you that most people who bumper sticker their car are just people screaming for attention who have control issues. I still see people with obama 08 stickers on their car and they clearly have issues that they want people to know their opinions.

Putting an election sticker a few weeks before an election, with no other stickers, is a whole different thing though. I would consider it like any other advertising. The message is "it is important that you vote this year if you care about gun rights." So following the rule that it takes seeing advertising 3 times before it makes a difference, maybe someone saw an ad on TV, saw an ad in their paper, and now your sticker is the third thing they have seen reminding them that an important election is coming up.

Maybe they will get out and vote.
 
Why do people hide their license plate? They do not hide it when they are driving down the road.
 
Well for me it's the mods here actually. I'm afraid that one of them is going to see me post on a thread and think I'm hijacking it to promote my business and decide that it is time to go postal on my behind.

Normally that wouldn't bother me but this is one of the few places in the world that think some people actually might shoot better than me lol. I can handle gangbangers, but THR mods?? I don't know and I'd rather not find out. :)
