I recently purchased my first O/U, a 20 Ga. Angelo Zoli and decided to do a shot pattern. Was shocked at the "kick", when I first fired it. Turned out both barrels fired off!

Did a few more with the same result. I tested it w/o loads and both barrels fired separately i.e., I got two separate fires squeezing off the trigger twice.

Not being familiar with single trigger O/U's, I was wondering if perhaps moving the safety on and off might trigger the barrel selectors to engage both?

Any ideas on what's going on here? Beautiful gun in like new condition with very little use markings.

Sounds to me like he means both barrels are firing at once, I really know nothing about how O/U work this definitely seem to be a mechanical issue.

Give it to a gunsmith, most likely incorrect sear angles or not enough engagment of the sears. by any chance does it happen regardless of what barrel you select to fire first?

It's happened to me a couple of times. Bad sear. A qualified gunsmith should be able to take of it with no problem. Do you know how many rounds had been fired from the gun?

Thanks for the feedback one and all!

hdblue since I've already paid top dollar for this gun- it is in pristine condition just the same, what can I expect to pay to get this corrected?

Can't select the barrel- or so it seems. At least I couldn't see how. Safety doesn't offer a barrel selection position.

While Fausti made model that could be made to do that on purpose Angelo Zoli did not. Next time buy ANTONIO Zoli not Angelo Zoli.
If possible return the gun to where you bought it as it will require service of good double gun man and that my dear fellaw is quite expensive proposition.
