Just some background.
Spring East is a low rent apartment complex. The invader has been in the area long enough to know that a deputy lived in the apartment. The way I see it the perp. deliberately went to the deputy's apartment for who knows what reason but I bet it wasn't to sell him girl scout cookies. Local news is saying that the perp. gained entry into the deputy's apartment and then wrestled with the deputy who shot him 1 time. From the news I believe the deputy attempted to wrestle the guy down and got into contact with the bad guy. I don't think I would have done that. I hope that the FDLE investigation clears the deputy and he does not have to face any civil or criminal trials. It is a mostly black and hispanic neighborhood and the deputy is white, so it is possible that somebody might try to railroad the deputy. I don't think any jury could possibly see where the deputy did wrong but you never know with juries.
What really got me mad was when I did something stupid. I was discussing the incident with a coworker ( That is where I made a mistake) he was downing the deputy saying that he was probably waiting for the perp to bust the door down and shoot him as soon as he got in the door and was saying that the deputy should not have shot him! I was livid if someone is trying to break into my house I will be waiting for them gun in hand and ready if they get in I will shoot them if they don't manage to turn around and run away first.
No one breaks in my house while I am there and gets to attack me in my own home. I will defend myself and my wife to the best of my ability if that means when you break down the door you are meet with 9mm or 12 gauge slug or 223 rifle rounds tough for you.
