Hello I'm brand new, but this site is right up my alley. My newest gun is a Vector UZI in .45acp. I recently graduated Marine Corps Officer Candidate's School and will be commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in Dec. upon graduation from OU. I need to find some Okies on here who might have a spot for me to hunt with a rifle for deer. I would work in exchange for the chance the hunt. Currently, I hunt public land but gun hunting is forbidden. Anybody know another way for a man to find a spot to hunt with out paying loads of money for a lease?

Take a look at some of the Corp land around the Kaw Lake Res in northern Kay County. There's alot of public hunting land there but there are also alot of people during gun season. Would not be my first choice for gun season but there have been alot of really nice deer taken up here.

Hey got to thinking also check out the south side of the Canton res. I was drawn for a special hunt there a couple of years ago and seen plenty of deer. Mostly does though. But I found out along time ago it's real tough to eat antlers.

I used to have a lease up there around Dewey Co. In '96 I killed a big 10 pointer. The next year a big eight. Later we lost the lease for financial reasons I was spoiled at that place.

I'd like to hunt around the beaver res, my dad took a nice ten point out there in '99 or '00. Had a nice wide wall hangin' rack but a little body. If I remember right it only dressed out at 130lbs.

Just for the quick back ground, I was a 6484 stationed at Cherry Point, NC.

I'll take you up on that. I need to come to the city to get #10 percussion caps and some Hogden 777. How much do you charge for FFL transfers. I go through a guy in Moore right now. I actully hope to open a store of my own after I get out of the Corps, but that will be awhile. I may end up a career Marine

Public hunting lands

On your trip to the city go by Okla. Fish and Game Comm.[Lincoln Blvd],just about 1/2 mile South of the Capitol Bldg., and buy the publication that shows all the public hunting lands in the state.

I know where they all are, but few allow rifle hunting. And I hate all the hunting pressure on public lands. Twice I have had deer spooked by some other dumba*** this bow season.
