Showed up on the used counter with a circa 1915 third model closed hammer owlhead. No idea how old the holster is but no doubt considerably newer than the revolver. Holster goes inside the pants while the belt threads between the strap and flap.

Cool Pic, whats an owl head?, I can see it on the grip, but was that a make of revolver or a model made by Smith & Wesson like the Lemon squeezer?????
What caliber was the owl head????

The Owl Head is the Ivor Johnson trademark.

Iver Johnson started making these in the mid-1890s. The one in the picture is from 1909 or later and has coil springs, adjustible mainspring sets and a transfer bar safety. Old IJ was pretty innovative. He worked for H&R for a while. These revolvers came along a few years later than the Smith new departure and have a similar overall profile.
