A friend on mine asked me to help him with a neat concept. His father passed away about a year or so ago and my friend is building a new house. What he wants to do is take a old shotgun that his father gave him that is no longer functional and put it into a shadow box with a couple of old shotgun shells. Now where can I find some old shotgun shells?

For a few dollars

you can buy brass hulls. They are made for folks who still shoot their old damascus guns and load black powder. I think Dixie Gun Works sells them. On the other hand, I've got some J.C. Higgins 12ga. over here!

Paper or brass? Paper hulls can still be bought, you can reload those. Ditto brass, both at MidwayUSA. :)

That sounds like a great idea, btw - I really like the idea of remembering someone like that.

What gauge shotgun - type, and time period ? If you need a couple older 1940's 1950's type paper shells I can mail you a couple if you pm me with an address. No charge

I used to buy them of eBay at times for display use. I have 12 gauge buck, bird, and slug in old paper hulls. I'd be willing to donate a couple if needed.

Good luck with the project.
