just found this 12" or so real thick spine heavy bladed bowie from england at a pawn shop burried under some knives, heavy wood handle with huge copper rivets.it was awesome, dark grey blade, lots of military numbers branded in the wood,i can have it for 60.00,i"m gonna put it on layaway, short on cash for two weeks, are these rare.or pass.

i"ll try..

my daughter will probably have to help me post up a link to a picture, she will be late tonight.i"m not smart enough..i did find a few pic"s online though.

thats it...

thanks for finding a picture, i thought it was a rare knife, being in the states and all, it was just, different,i dont know, one of those urges,it was a hoss of a knife.now i dont know.the huge copper rivets in the handle was cool.heck of a chopper or camp knife i guess.

Sorry, but I don't see the semblance to a bowie in that. Just the MOD survival knife.

not trying to argue,i dont know my history good enough,it looks kind danial boonish to me,that"s just me.i'm just telling you all if you could hold one,it might change a few minds"maybe.have a good day.

well i took everyone"s advice, left the british hunk of steel, and bought my first american knife,a #1219 u.s army kabar ,leather handle, black 11 7/8" blade, small inside serrations ,1095 carbon steel with a desert sand molle sheath, plus i saved a few bucks and might have a better knife.have a good day.

broken,

No problem. What a "bowie" was is a point of debate for knife historians anyway. A chef's knife could qualify.

I've read good things about the MOD Survival knife but it's not ideal. Falkniven makes a much better "bushcrafter" knife as do many other companies.
